Did you know that the National Day of Prayer is a vital part of America’s heritage? This annual event dates all the way back to 1775, signifying just how important and integral prayer has always been to our nation.

We invite you to join us as we humbly come before God to seek His guidance, wisdom and grace for our leaders and our nation. The theme for this year is “Pray Fervently in Righteousness and Avail Much” and that is exactly what we plan to do! ►    Psalm 125:3 (AMPC) The scepter of wickedness shall not rest upon the land of the [uncompromisingly] righteous, lest the righteous put forth their hands to iniquity and apostasy. 

►    2 Chronicles 7:14 (KJV) If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land. 

►   John 8:32 (AMPC) And you will know the Truth, and the Truth will set you free.

►   Luke 12:2-3 (AMPC) Nothing is [so closely] covered up that it will not be revealed, or hidden that it will not be known. ►   Joel 2:28-29 (AMPC) And afterward I will pour out My Spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions. Even upon the menservants and upon the maidservants in those days will I pour out My Spirit.

►   Psalm 139:13-14 (KJV) For thou hast possessed my reins: thou hast covered me in my mother’s womb. I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well.

►   Ezekiel 16:6 (KJV) And when I passed by thee, and saw thee polluted in thine own blood, I said unto thee when thou wast in thy blood, Live; yea, I said unto thee when thou wast in the blood, Live.

►   Deuteronomy 19:10 (KJV) That innocent blood be not shed in thy land, which the Lord thy God giveth thee for an inheritance, and so blood be upon thee.

►   Proverbs 6:16-19 (KJV) These six things doth the Lord hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him: a proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, an heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief, aa false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren. 

►   Proverbs 24:25 (NKJV) But those who rebuke the wicked will have delight, and a good blessing will come upon them.

►   Jude 15 (AMPC) To execute judgment upon all and to convict all the impious (unholy ones) of all their ungodly deeds which they have committed [in such an] ungodly [way], and of all the severe (abusive, jarring) things which ungodly sinners have spoken against Him.

►   John 1:4-5 (AMPC) In Him was Life, and the Life was the Light of men.And the Light shines on in the darkness, for the darkness has never overpowered it [put it out or absorbed it or appropriated it, and is unreceptive to it].

►   2 Corinthians 4:6 (AMPC) For God Who said, Let light shine out of darkness, has shone in our hearts so as [to beam forth] the Light for the illumination of the knowledge of the majesty and glory of God [as it is manifest in the Person and is revealed] in the face of Jesus Christ (the Messiah).

►   1 Samuel 30:8 (NKJV) And David inquired of the Lord, saying, “Shall I pursue this troop? Shall I overtake them? And He answered him, Pursue, for you shall surely overtake them and without fail recover all.” 

►   Ephesians 3:16 (AMPC) May He grant you out of the rich treasury of His glory to be strengthened and reinforced with mighty power in the inner man by the [Holy] Spirit [Himself indwelling your innermost being and personality].

►   Ephesians 6:19-20 (AMPC) And [pray] also for me, that [freedom of] utterance may be given me, that I may open my mouth to proclaim boldly the mystery of the good news (the Gospel), for which I am an ambassador in a coupling chain [in prison. Pray] that I may declare it boldly and courageously, as I ought to do.

►   Colossians 1:9 (AMPC) For this reason we also, from the day we heard of it, have not ceased to pray and make [special] request for you, [asking] that you may be filled with the full (deep and clear) knowledge of His will in all spiritual wisdom [in comprehensive insight into the ways and purposes of God] and in understanding and discernment of spiritual things. 

►   Isaiah 1:25-27 (KJV) And I will turn my hand upon thee, and purely purge away thy dross, and take away all thy tin: And I will restore thy judges as at the first, and thy counsellors as at the beginning: afterward thou shalt be called, the city of righteousness, the faithful city. Zion shall be redeemed with judgment, and her converts with righteousness.

►   1 Timothy 2:1-2 (KJV)I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; for kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty. 

►   Psalm 91 (AMPC)

►   Isaiah 54:17 (KJV) No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and their righteousness is of me, saith the Lord.

►   Revelation 12:11 (AMPC) And they have overcome (conquered) him by means of the blood of the Lamb and by the utterance of their testimony, for they did not love and cling to life even when faced with death [holding their lives cheap till they had to die for their witnessing].

►   1 John 1:7 (AMPC) But if we [really] are living and walking in the Light, as He [Himself] is in the Light, we have [true, unbroken] fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses (removes) us from all sin and guilt [keeps us cleansed from sin in all its forms and manifestations].

►   Hebrews 9:14 (AMPC) How much more surely shall the blood of Christ, Who by virtue of [His] eternal Spirit [His own preexistent divine personality] has offered Himself as an unblemished sacrifice to God, purify our consciences from dead works and lifeless observances to serve the [ever] living God? 

 

Your prayers are certainly not limited to just these 10 prayer targets. So, as you pray fervently in righteousness, seek the Lord, and allow His Spirit to guide you. Follow where He leads you and remember, “The earnest (heartfelt, continued) prayer of a righteous man makes tremendous power available [dynamic in its working]” (James 5:16, AMPC)!
