Our children are being bombarded from every angle and it is our job to protect them. We can not allow TV, social media, etc. to parent our children. We must make it a priority to instill the foundational truths of the Word of God. Here is a challenge parents! Turn phones/tablets off when you get home. Be present in their presence.
Disconnect from Social Media - every form.
Take a couple of nights a week for family dinners. Put your devices on DND. We do not have to answer the phone call or text immediately. Let your family know they are your priority.
Have open conversations with your children. Let them have opinions, questions, and thoughts, then direct them to the Word of God.

I have heard it said hundreds of times, “Phones are here to stay, so our kids need to learn how to use them.” And while I absolutely agree with that statement, unregulated, unmonitored use of technology isn’t teaching them anything. As parents, we have the burden and privilege of guiding and helping them figure out how to use technology in moderation and to their advantage without letting go of the beauty that is a real, screen-free life. If you think it is too late, it’s not. Now that you know better, do better. For us, these 10 tips have been a giant step in the right direction.
